Seattle Mariners Unveil Nintendo-Themed Jersey Sleeves in Historic MLB Partnership
The Seattle Mariners announce a groundbreaking partnership with Nintendo, introducing themed jersey sleeves for home and away games, marking a historic MLB first.

In a landmark collaboration that merges the worlds of sports and gaming, the Seattle Mariners and Nintendo of America have unveiled a unique partnership that will see the Mariners don themed jersey sleeves for the first time in their history.
Historic Jersey Sleeve Design
The Mariners will sport the classic Nintendo "racetrack" logo on their home game sleeves, while their away sleeves will feature the Nintendo Switch 2 logo, a nod to the upcoming release of the new gaming console. This makes the Mariners the first MLB team to have distinct sleeve patches for home and away games.
Julio Rodriguez's New Role
Adding to the excitement, Julio Rodriguez, the Mariners' All-Star centerfielder, has been announced as a brand ambassador for Nintendo, further cementing the ties between the team and the gaming giant.
A Long-Standing Partnership
This collaboration is an extension of a relationship that dates back to 1992 when Nintendo, under the leadership of then-CEO Hiroshi Yamauchi, purchased a controlling stake in the team as a gesture of gratitude to the city of Seattle, home to Nintendo's U.S. headquarters. Although Nintendo sold most of its stake in 2016, it retains a 10% ownership in the Mariners.
The introduction of these themed jerseys marks a significant moment in MLB history, blending the excitement of baseball with the innovation of gaming.
