Burnham Square's Triumphant Victory in the Blue Grass for Derby Qualification
Burnham Square won the Blue Grass, earning a Derby spot.

Burnham Square, ridden by Brian Hernandez, made a remarkable come-from-behind victory in the storm-delayed $1.25 million Blue Grass at Keeneland. The 101st running of the Blue Grass was postponed due to heavy rain and flooding. East Avenue led initially but Burnham Square steadily moved up and won by a nose. River Thames finished third. Admiral Dennis was fourth. The win earned Burnham Square enough points to qualify for next month's Kentucky Derby.
The Ian Wilkes-trained gelding has performed well, and its trainer is determined to keep improving for the Derby. Jockey Brian Hernandez was confident of the win.
