Olney: 5 MLB Teams Poised for Big Improvements in 2025
Buster Olney looks at the five MLB teams most likely to make significant improvements in 2025, including the Cincinnati Reds, Boston Red Sox, Arizona Diamondbacks, Texas Rangers, and Washington Nationals.

The Cincinnati Reds had the worst record in one-run decisions last year and issued too many walks. They also had trouble holding runners, allowing 123 steals. New manager Terry Francona and president of baseball operations Nick Krall have specific improvements in mind, including better defense, more athleticism, and fewer walks. The Reds traded for starting pitcher Brady Singer and added catcher Jose Trevino and infielder Gavin Lux. They also have a deep pool of free agent relievers to choose from.
