Gary Woodland Joins as Final Vice Captain for 2025 Ryder Cup: A Strategic Move by Keegan Bradley
Gary Woodland has been named the final vice captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup by Keegan Bradley, adding depth to the U.S. team's leadership.

U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley has officially announced Gary Woodland as the fifth and final vice captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup. This strategic addition aims to bolster the team's leadership as they prepare to reclaim the prestigious trophy from Europe at Bethpage Black in New York.
Gary Woodland's Impressive Career
Gary Woodland, a seasoned golfer with four PGA Tour victories, including the 2019 U.S. Open, brings a wealth of experience to the team. His resilience and skill were further highlighted when he received the PGA Tour Courage Award in February 2025, following his remarkable return to full-time competition after undergoing brain surgery in 2023.
A New Role for Woodland
This will be Woodland's first appearance at the Ryder Cup, either as a vice captain or a player. Previously, he represented the U.S. at the 2019 Presidents Cup in Australia, where he contributed 1.5 points to the team's 16-14 victory.
Bradley's Vision
Bradley expressed his admiration for Woodland, stating, 'I have an incredible amount of respect and admiration for Gary and all he has accomplished in this game. As a major champion and someone who is still competing at a high level, he is well aware of the demands of performing on golf's biggest stages.'
Commitment to the Team
Woodland shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, saying, 'Keegan's passion for this event is contagious and I am thrilled to be a part of it. With just over two months to go until we arrive at Bethpage, I am fully committed to doing everything I can to help Keegan as well as our team of vice captains and players.'
The Countdown Begins
The Ryder Cup is set to take place from September 26 to 28, 2025, at Bethpage Black in New York. The U.S. team, under Bradley's leadership, is gearing up for an intense competition to bring the trophy back home.
