Ben Griffin Dominates with Bogey-Free Round, Leads Procore Championship by Three Shots
Ben Griffin maintains a flawless performance with a bogey-free round, securing a three-shot lead at the Procore Championship in Napa.

NAPA, Calif. — Ben Griffin continued his impressive form at the Procore Championship, delivering a second consecutive bogey-free round with a stellar 6-under 66. This performance has solidified his position at the top of the leaderboard, holding a three-shot lead as the tournament progresses.
Griffin’s consistency has been the highlight of the event, as he navigated the challenging Silverado course with precision and composure. His ability to avoid bogeys for two straight days has set him apart from the competition, including Ryder Cup teammates who are also vying for the title.
Among those trailing Griffin are Ryder Cup rookie Russell Henley, who carded a 68, and Jackson Koivun, the top-ranked amateur who recently contributed to the U.S. Walker Cup victory. Koivun’s round included a remarkable eagle on the par-5 12th, though he faced a setback with an out-of-bounds tee shot on the 14th, which he managed to salvage with a bogey.
Henley, who hails from Columbus, Georgia, and Koivun, who is set to enter his junior year at Auburn, share a friendly rivalry. "I ran into Russell Henley on the range and told him I was going to catch him," Koivun said. "So that was my objective." Both players are tied, three shots behind Griffin, who stands at 14-under 130.
Other notable performances include J.J. Spaun, the U.S. Open champion, who remains in contention despite a mixed round of 68. Spaun is five shots behind Griffin, along with Lanto Griffin, who posted a 70.
The Procore Championship has also served as a crucial preparation ground for the upcoming Ryder Cup, with Silverado hosting 10 players from the American team. Captain Keegan Bradley has been actively monitoring their progress, ensuring the team remains sharp ahead of the prestigious event.
Griffin, one of four Ryder Cup rookies, has remained focused on the task at hand. "I wouldn't even say my mindset's been Ryder Cup. I've been pretty focused on this golf tournament," Griffin said. "Once I get on the first tee, I'm thinking I'm trying to play well here."
His strategy has paid off, as he handled the par-5s on the back nine with ease and delivered a stunning tee shot on the par-3 second hole. Griffin’s performance has been a testament to his skill and determination, as he continues to lead the field in Napa.
As the tournament progresses, all eyes will be on Griffin to see if he can maintain his flawless play and secure a commanding victory at the Procore Championship.
