Seb Atkinson Commits to Gloucester: A Rising Star in Premiership Rugby

Gloucester's young centre Seb Atkinson has signed a new contract, solidifying his role as a key player in the team's future. Discover how his dedication and growth are shaping his career.

Gloucester Rugby is delighted to announce that Seb Atkinson, the dynamic centre, has extended his contract with the club. Since joining from Worcester Warriors in November 2022, Atkinson has become an integral part of the Cherry and Whites, making 52 appearances and establishing himself as the first-choice number 12 this season.

A Rising Talent

At the age of 22, Atkinson has already proven his worth on the pitch. He has played every minute of nine out of ten Premiership games he started this campaign, showcasing his resilience and consistency. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Gloucester's director of rugby, George Skivington, praising his potential.

"Seb has lots of developing still to go, but there's no doubt he has the potential to push for higher honours," Skivington said.

A Trusted Young Player

Atkinson attributes his growth to the trust and support he has received from the coaching staff. "George and the coaches have shown plenty of times how much they trust in and back the young players, and that's given me so much confidence in my game," he shared.

A Key Part of Gloucester's Future

Atkinson is the sixth Gloucester player to renew his contract ahead of the next season, joining the likes of Seb Blake, Arthur Clark, and Charlie Atkinson. His commitment to improvement and his work ethic have been highlighted by assistant forwards coach Trevor Woodman.

"He's one of those guys that really digs in with his detail, puts it out on the pitch week-in, week out," Woodman told BBC Radio Gloucestershire. "He's always in the building trying to improve himself as a player, and that's a joy to coach."

The Journey Ahead

While the length of Atkinson's new contract remains undisclosed, his journey with Gloucester promises to be an exciting one. With his talent, dedication, and the support of the club, Atkinson is poised to achieve even greater heights in the world of rugby.
