Sergio Perez, the 35-year-old Mexican driver, has stated that he has conversed with several teams regarding a comeback to the Formula 1 grid next season. After leaving Red Bull in December 2024, he is now exploring his options. Perez's 2024 season was less than satisfactory, with no race wins and only four podium finishes. However, he insists on returning only if the project is appealing and enjoyable for him.

Perez had a successful 2023, finishing second in the drivers' championship behind teammate Max Verstappen. But last season was described as 'terrible' by him. His struggles were partly attributed to issues with Red Bull's car. The replacement driver, Liam Lawson, was dropped after two races this season and replaced by Yuki Tsunoda.

Perez believes that people now understand the difficulty of driving the car after his departure.
