Ireland's Rugby Funding Model Adjustment for Provincial Teams

The Irish Rugby Football Union has updated the funding model for provincial teams.

The four Irish provinces will have to contribute 40% to Ireland's national player contracts from August 2026 instead of 30%. This change, following an IRFU review, aims to ensure financial sustainability and fairness. The funds generated will be invested in the player pathways of Connacht, Munster and Ulster. The updated model will be monitored annually and an organizational efficiency review has commenced.
