Lyndon Dykes Aims for Comeback in Scotland's June Friendlies Against Iceland and Liechtenstein
Lyndon Dykes targets a return from injury for Scotland's June friendlies against Iceland and Liechtenstein, aiming to regain form and rhythm.

Lyndon Dykes is setting his sights on a return to the pitch for Scotland's upcoming June friendlies against Iceland and Liechtenstein. The Birmingham City striker has been sidelined since February due to a calf injury, missing the crucial final stages of the season as his club secured the English League One title.
Dykes, who has earned 42 caps for Scotland and scored nine international goals, last played in November's Nations League victory over Poland. Speaking to BBC Scotland, Dykes expressed optimism about his recovery: 'I'm feeling good. I've been on the pitch running this week. Hopefully, I can get through a couple more weeks of rehab with the physios, and the aim is to be involved in the June camp for Scotland.'
The 29-year-old has faced a challenging season, missing the Nations League play-off loss to Greece and Euro 2024 due to ankle ligament damage sustained just days before the squad departed for Germany. Reflecting on his setbacks, Dykes remains determined: 'This whole season has been tough, but I'm sure I'll come out of it strong and get back to playing consistently and delivering the goods.'
Looking ahead, Dykes sees the June friendlies as a crucial step in regaining his form and rhythm: 'Having these internationals coming up is good for me to get into that rhythm again and gives me something to look forward to. I've been looking at those games, then have a little break and come back flying for next season.'
Scotland will host Iceland at Hampden Park on June 6 (19:45 BST) before traveling to Vaduz to face Liechtenstein on June 9 (18:00). These matches will be an important test for Steve Clarke's side as they prepare for future competitions.
