Tom ‘Snoopy’ Wilson: The Darts Charity Champion Smashing £100,000 Milestone for Prostate Cancer UK
Tom ‘Snoopy’ Wilson, an inspirational darts player from Stoke-on-Trent, has raised over £100,000 for Prostate Cancer UK through eight years of tournaments and raffles. Supported by 16-time world champion Phil Taylor, Wilson’s journey combines competitive spirit with personal resilience while living with autism. His story continues through innovative online fundraising initiatives.

A Champion’s Journey Begins
Tom Wilson, affectionately known as 'Snoopy' in darts circles, transformed personal adversity into sporting philanthropy after two family members were diagnosed with prostate cancer. What began as a modest £10,000 target in 2016 has evolved into a six-figure fundraising phenomenon through 32 charity tournaments and 87 raffle events across Staffordshire.
The Power of Partnership
Wilson’s efforts gained legendary reinforcement when 16-time World Darts Champion Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor became an ambassador for the cause. "When Snoopy told me his vision, I knew we had to throw our weight behind it," Taylor stated during November’s ‘Bullseye Bonanza’ event that alone raised £8,200.
Overcoming Challenges, Inspiring Hope
Diagnosed with autism at 14, Wilson credits darts for providing focus: "The oche is my sanctuary. Every throw for charity gives me purpose." His unique ‘180 Challenge’ – donating £5 for every maximum score hit during tournaments – has become a fan-favorite element.
Next-Level Fundraising
With the £100k milestone achieved, Wilson is launching:
- Virtual Global Darts Marathon: 24-hour streaming event featuring pro players
- Legacy Auction Series: Signed memorabilia from Taylor, Michael van Gerwen, and Fallon Sherrock
- Community Oche Program: Teaching dementia patients therapeutic dart techniques
A Legacy in Motion
Prostate Cancer UK CEO Nicola Tallett praised: "Tom’s dedication shows how grassroots sports can drive real change." As Wilson prepares for December’s ‘Festive 500’ fundraiser, his message resonates: "Every dart thrown heals hearts while funding cures."
