Nathan Heaney's Final Bout: A Dream to Fight at Stoke City's bet365 Stadium
Nathan Heaney faces a must-win fight at Stoke's King's Hall, vowing to retire if he can't secure a future bout at Stoke City's bet365 Stadium.

Former British middleweight champion Nathan Heaney has declared that his upcoming fight against Grant Dennis at the King's Hall in Stoke on Saturday will be his last if he cannot secure a future bout at Stoke City's bet365 Stadium. The 34-year-old, known as 'The Hitman', has long dreamed of finishing his career at the home of his favorite football team.
Heaney, who has won 18 of his 21 fights, emphasized that this fight is a 'must win' for him. He stated, "I've always envisioned retiring from boxing on my terms. I never envisioned retiring after a loss." Heaney is promoted by Frank Warren and believes that a victory on Saturday will remind Warren why he signed him years ago.
Heaney's popularity in Stoke is evident as the event sold out immediately. He expressed his desire to make his final fight a grand event, saying, "It would be the biggest sporting event our city's ever seen outside of football." He also mentioned that his young daughter will be among the sell-out crowd, adding extra pressure to win.
Heaney comes into this fight off the back of two defeats, but he remains determined. He wants the fans to savor the atmosphere, especially during his trademark ring walk to the sound of Tom Jones' classic Delilah. "Make it an absolute bear pit. Make it intimidating and like nothing he's [Dennis] experienced before," Heaney urged.
If Heaney wins, he hopes to have his final fight at Stoke City's stadium next year. If not, he plans to retire after Saturday's bout, leaving the ring with his head held high.
