Eduardo Bello Extends Stay with Newcastle Falcons: A Boost for the New Premiership Season
Argentina prop Eduardo Bello signs a new one-year contract with Newcastle Falcons, aiming to make a strong comeback after injury.

Argentina prop Eduardo Bello has committed to another year with Newcastle Falcons, signing a new one-year contract. This comes after a challenging season for Bello, who missed the entire 2023-24 campaign due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained during the 2024 Rugby Championship while representing Los Pumas.
Despite the setback, the 29-year-old, who has earned 26 caps for Argentina, is eager to return to the pitch and contribute to the Falcons' upcoming season in the Gallagher Premiership. "It's been a tough year not being able to play after injuring my knee, but I'm determined to make a significant impact during what is a very exciting time for the club," Bello stated.
Newcastle Falcons endured a difficult season, finishing at the bottom of the Premiership. However, the club is on the brink of a major transformation, with energy drink giant Red Bull poised to take over. This potential acquisition has injected optimism into the team and its supporters.
Steve Diamond, Newcastle's consultant director of rugby, expressed his enthusiasm about Bello's return: "It will be fantastic to have Eduardo on board for the new season. When he's fit, he's a starting tighthead for a tier-one nation, and he'll add to the competition we've got on that side of the scrum."
Bello's return is expected to bolster the Falcons' forward pack, providing much-needed depth and experience as they aim to climb the Premiership table. His presence will be crucial in the scrums, where his expertise as a tighthead prop will be invaluable.
As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on Bello and the Falcons to see how they perform under the potential new ownership and with a renewed sense of purpose. Fans are hopeful that this fresh chapter will bring success and stability to the club.
