CJ Fulton Set to Rejoin Minnesota Timberwolves for Pre-Season Training
CJ Fulton returns to the Minnesota Timberwolves for pre-season training, aiming to secure a spot in the NBA roster after impressing in the Summer League.

CJ Fulton is gearing up for a return to the Minnesota Timberwolves as he joins the team for their pre-season training in September. The 23-year-old Irish player, who previously showcased his skills in the NBA Summer League, is set to train with the full roster, including All-Star Anthony Edwards.
Fulton made his debut for the Timberwolves during the Summer League, playing four minutes in their 89-85 victory over the Phoenix Suns in July. This appearance marked him as the third Irish-born player to compete at the highest level in the United States, following in the footsteps of Pat Burke and Susan Moran.
In his subsequent game against the Houston Rockets, Fulton logged 17 minutes, contributing 2 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals. His performance in Las Vegas caught the attention of the Timberwolves' coaching staff, earning him an invitation to continue training with the team.
Although Fulton has yet to sign a contract with the NBA franchise, this pre-season opportunity could be a stepping stone towards achieving his dream of playing in the league. The Timberwolves, who have been back-to-back Western Conference finalists, are scheduled to play six exhibition games before their regular-season opener against the Denver Nuggets on 27 October.
Fulton's journey to the NBA has been marked by perseverance. After averaging 7.8 points and 6.5 assists per game during his senior year with the Charleston Cougars, he initially went undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft. However, his determination and skill have kept him in the running for a spot on an NBA roster.
While options such as the G-League or a professional career in Europe remain open, Fulton's primary focus is on securing a place with the Timberwolves. His return to the team for pre-season training is a crucial step in his pursuit of an NBA career.
