"I've been bouncing in every day. It's an incredible privilege," he expressed, highlighting the joy of being part of the team again.

Missing out on the summer tour to South Africa for the birth of his first child and also sidelined by injury during November, the seasoned 32-year-old felt every moment of his absence. "I hadn't played for Ireland since 16 March last year, 11 odd months. Obviously expecting a baby was far more important than rugby, but the camaraderie and the environment are irreplaceable."

In his return, Conan made an immediate impact after being brought on in the 50th minute, showcasing his skill by nearly pulling off a spectacular play that surprised even himself. "That’s not something that happens to me that often. I was looking around for lads, but you have to know your limitations."

Conan shared, "When you're not playing for such a long time, coming back and finding your groove is incredibly challenging. But Dan made it look easy, showing what determination can achieve."
