Myles Herro Commits to Ohio State: A New Chapter for the Herro Legacy

Myles Herro, brother of Miami Heat star Tyler Herro, commits to Ohio State, aiming to carve his own path in college basketball.

Ohio State Buckeyes coach Jake Diebler has secured a significant commitment for the 2025 season with the addition of Myles Herro, the younger brother of Miami Heat All-Star point guard Tyler Herro. Myles, a 6-foot-3 point guard, chose Ohio State over Southern Illinois, Cal Poly, and Western Illinois.

Myles showcased his talent last season at Whitnall High School in Wisconsin, averaging 21.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists. His ability to facilitate was further highlighted in the Nike EYBL last summer, where he averaged 5.3 assists while playing for Team Herro, Tyler's AAU team.

Now, Myles aims to follow a similar trajectory to his brother, who excelled after high school. Tyler Herro, ranked No. 30 overall in the ESPN 100 in 2018, used a snub from the McDonald's All American Game as motivation during his freshman season with the Kentucky Wildcats. He earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshman team, averaging 14 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, and was later picked No. 13 by the Miami Heat in the 2019 NBA draft.

Could Myles replicate his brother's success? His all-around backcourt skills will be crucial for Ohio State, especially after the recent news that 6-foot-5 guard Dorian Jones won't be enrolling this upcoming season. The Buckeyes are hopeful that Myles will be a key player in their quest for success in the NCAAM.

With the Herro legacy continuing in Columbus, all eyes will be on Myles as he begins his college basketball journey. Will he be the next 'Boy Wonder' for Ohio State? Only time will tell.
