Tyrese Haliburton to Miss 2025-26 NBA Season Due to Achilles Injury
Indiana Pacers' star Tyrese Haliburton will miss the 2025-26 NBA season following surgery for a torn Achilles tendon.

The Indiana Pacers have officially announced that their star point guard, Tyrese Haliburton, will be sidelined for the entire 2025-26 NBA season. This decision comes after Haliburton underwent surgery to repair a torn right Achilles tendon.
Pacers president Kevin Pritchard expressed optimism about Haliburton's recovery, stating, 'I have no doubt that he will be back better than ever. The surgery went well. He will not play next year though. We would not jeopardize that now. So don't get any hopes up that he will play.'
Haliburton sustained the injury during Game 7 of the NBA Finals last month, which saw the Oklahoma City Thunder clinch their first-ever championship. In his absence, the Pacers struggled, being outscored 56-43 in the second half, leading to a 103-91 defeat.
Throughout the regular season, Haliburton showcased his talent, averaging 18.6 points, 9.2 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.4 steals over 73 games. His contributions earned him a spot on the All-NBA third team. Over his career, spanning 333 games with the Sacramento Kings and the Pacers, Haliburton has maintained averages of 17.5 points, 8.8 assists, and 3.7 rebounds.
The Pacers and their fans will undoubtedly miss Haliburton's presence on the court, but the focus remains on his recovery and eventual return to peak performance.
