Livi's Win Tinted with 'Frustration' for Martindale

Livingston manager David Martindale says there is 'a wee bit of frustration', despite reducing Falkirk's Scottish Championship lead and re-igniting the title race.

Livi moved to within eight points of leaders Falkirk by beating them 1-0 on Tuesday night and Martindale's side have a game in hand. Ayr, who also have a game in hand, are three points off Livingston.

Falkirk have taken only one point from encounters with Livi this season and Martindale feels that could have counted for more.

'I don't think you can be taking 10 points off the team that's at the top of the league and be sitting second in the league,' he said. 'There is still a wee bit of frustration there.'

Livingston find late goal to cut Falkirk's lead

'We've lost the least number of games in the league, we've got the best goals conceded but, again, too many draws.'

'We've had a couple of decent opportunities throughout the season, we've kind of let ourselves down, fell a wee bit short.'

Only one of the top three are in league action this weekend as Ayr United host Dunfermline Athletic, with Livingston taking on Queen's Park in Sunday's SPFL Trust Trophy final (16:10), which is live on BBC Alba and iPlayer.

'There's still six games to go,' added Martindale.

'The determination from the players has been there since matchday one.'

'I can only really control us. Falkirk's games will take care of themselves. We can't control Falkirk's results, can't control Ayr United's results.'
