Michael Dunlop Dominates TT Qualifying with Record-Breaking Lap
Michael Dunlop sets the fastest time in the curtailed TT qualifying session, showcasing his dominance on the Isle of Man TT circuit.

Michael Dunlop has once again proven his mettle in the world of motorsport by setting the fastest time in the delayed final qualifying session at the Isle of Man TT. The session, which was pushed back due to inclement weather, saw Dunlop achieve a blistering lap speed of 132.003mph on his Rokit BMW, securing him third place in the overall qualifying leaderboard for the week.
Weather Delays and Session Highlights
The session was initially delayed due to adverse weather conditions, with the sidecars taking to the track first at 14:45 BST. Unfortunately, the session was marred by a crash involving the outfit of Pete Founds and Jevan Walmsley at Rhencullen, just outside Kirk Michael. Founds was taken to the hospital with arm injuries but was reported to be conscious and talking, while Walmsley emerged unhurt.
Superbikes and Supersports in Action
The 35-minute session for Superbikes, Superstocks, and Supersports finally got underway at 16:20 BST. Dunlop’s performance was the highlight, but other notable performances included Conor Cummins in the Superstocks with a lap speed of 129.835mph, Dean Harrison in the Supersports at 124.736mph, and Paul Jordan in the Supertwins with 118.584mph.
Revised Race Schedule
The race schedule, originally set to begin on Saturday, was pushed back to Monday due to a series of weather disruptions. Monday’s race programme will see the Superbike race starting at 10:45 BST, with the race distance reduced to four laps instead of the previously scheduled six. The Sidecar race one is set for a 13:15 start over three laps, followed by the Supersport race one at 15:00, also reduced from four laps to three.
