Welsh Golf Prodigy Darcey Harry Eyes LPGA Glory at Evian Championship
Welsh golfer Darcey Harry prepares for her major debut at the Evian Championship, showcasing her rapid rise in the sport and her ambitions for the LPGA Tour.

Darcey Harry, a rising star from Wales, is set to make her major tournament debut at the Evian Championship in France. At just 22 years old, Harry has already made significant strides in her professional golf career, securing her place on the Ladies European Tour (LET) through a stellar performance at the qualifying school last December.
Harry's rookie season has been nothing short of spectacular. She clinched her first LET title at the Hulencourt Women's Open in Belgium, triumphing by three shots. This victory, coupled with two additional top-10 finishes, has not only boosted her confidence but also secured her a spot in the prestigious Evian Championship.
"I never imagined in my rookie year I'd be competing in a major, let alone two majors, and one at my home course," Harry shared. "I'm definitely super nervous. I've never played a major before, so I don't really know what to expect. But I'm looking forward to the new challenge and to see how it is out there."
Harry's journey to the Evian Championship has been marked by consistent performances and a growing reputation. Her fourth-place finish at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open, following her victory in Belgium, showcased her resilience and ability to maintain high performance levels post-victory.
This week, Harry will tee off alongside Pajaree Anannarukarn of Thailand and Helen Briem of Germany. Her participation in the Evian Championship offers a unique opportunity to compete against some of the top players from the LPGA Tour, a league she aspires to join.
"I am looking forward to seeing what the next level is for me," Harry said. "I've not played against a lot of LPGA players before. That is my dream, to be on the LPGA, so it will be a learning curve for me, a chance to see what I need to improve to compete against them."
Harry's promising start to her professional career and her participation in major tournaments like the Evian Championship highlight her potential to become a significant figure in women's golf. As she continues to hone her skills and gain experience, the golfing world eagerly watches her journey towards achieving her LPGA dreams.
