David Ojabo Eyes Breakout NFL Season with Baltimore Ravens

David Ojabo is set for a pivotal NFL season with the Baltimore Ravens, aiming to overcome past injuries and make a significant impact.

David Ojabo, the Nigerian/Scottish linebacker, is gearing up for a crucial NFL season with the Baltimore Ravens. After battling through 'devastating injuries' in his initial years, Ojabo is ready to showcase his potential and help his team aim for the Super Bowl.

Ojabo's Journey and Challenges

Ojabo, who was born in Port Harcourt but grew up in Aberdeenshire, was selected by the Ravens in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. However, injuries to his Achilles and knee limited him to just five appearances in his first two seasons. Last year, he featured in 13 games and is now focused on a healthy and productive season.

Preparation and Goals

'First two years were definitely not what I expected or wanted, or anybody wanted,' Ojabo told BBC Scotland. 'But I had a full season last year and I'm very grateful, [for] my first off-season healthy. [I'm] ready to put that in the past and keep pushing forward.'

Ojabo emphasized the importance of his preparation and the adversity he has overcome. 'It all stems from the work I have put in, all the adversity I have been through, all leading up to right now, looking forward, and I've just got to go and put it out there,' he said.

Team Dynamics and Super Bowl Aspirations

The Ravens, led by two-time MVP Lamar Jackson, are brimming with talent and have high hopes for the upcoming season. Ojabo is determined to contribute significantly to the team's success. 'Now I am ready to go and try to win it all. That is the goal for the team,' he stated.

Ojabo's Perspective on NFL Career

Reflecting on his journey, Ojabo expressed gratitude for being in the NFL. 'Anybody that comes to the NFL, you should feel blessed. The percentages say that you are not going to make it in, so if you are in, whether drafted or undrafted, it is a blessing, so that is how I feel - just blessed to be here,' he said.

He also highlighted the fulfillment of his childhood dream. 'At the end of the day, if you look back as a child, the goal is to go professional. I am a professional, so don't lose sight of the dream. I am living my dream right now,' Ojabo added.

Focus on the Present

Despite discussions about his long-term future, Ojabo remains focused on the present. 'I am not on the media like that, so they don't decide what happens in the building - the people upstairs do,' he said. 'I don't pay much attention to that - I just listen to the coaches.'

Ojabo's determination and readiness make him a key player to watch in the upcoming NFL season as the Baltimore Ravens aim for glory.
