Former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has been nominated for the prestigious 2025 men's Ballon d'Or award. This nomination comes less than a year after McTominay's £25 million move from Manchester United to Napoli, where he played a pivotal role in securing the Serie A title.

McTominay, 28, was instrumental in Napoli's success, scoring 12 goals in 34 league appearances and earning the title of Serie A's Most Valuable Player. His nomination makes him the first Scottish player to be shortlisted for the Ballon d'Or since Ally McCoist in 1987.

The competition for the 2025 Ballon d'Or is fierce, with Ousmane Dembele of Paris St-Germain emerging as a leading contender following his stellar performance in the Champions League.
