South Africa has strategically reinforced their T20 squad by recalling David Miller, Keshav Maharaj, and Donovan Ferreira for the highly anticipated white-ball tour of England next month. This move comes as part of their preparation for the 2026 T20 World Cup, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka.

David Miller, a seasoned middle-order batter with over 300 caps, and Keshav Maharaj, a skilled spin bowler, both missed the recent T20 tour of Australia, where the hosts secured a 2-1 victory. Donovan Ferreira, known for his explosive batting, last represented his country in December but has been in stellar form in franchise cricket, including the recent Hundred competition.

The Proteas will engage in three one-day internationals and three T20 matches during their UK tour, commencing on 2 September. The squad also welcomes back Marco Jansen and Lizaad Williams, who have recovered from recent injuries. Additionally, teenage fast bowler Kwena Maphaka has been retained in the ODI squad as a backup for Kagiso Rabada, who is recuperating from an ankle injury.

Head coach Shukri Conrad expressed optimism about Rabada's availability, stating, "We'll reassess Kagiso in England. We are hopeful that he will be available for part of the ODI series, but we're prioritizing T20 cricket and will take a conservative approach. We won't rush him back."

The series opener is set for 2 September at Headingley, followed by matches at Lord's, Southampton, Cardiff, Emirates Old Trafford, and Trent Bridge. England has also included uncapped fast bowler Sonny Baker in their ODI squad, adding fresh talent to their lineup.
