Concacaf's Strong Stand Against 64-Team World Cup Plan for 2030

Concacaf opposes the proposal to expand the 2030 World Cup to 64 teams.

Concacaf president Victor Montagliani has criticized the proposal to increase the number of teams in the 2030 men's World Cup to 64. This plan has also faced opposition from Uefa and AFC. The 2026 World Cup has already expanded to 48 teams. The decision to expand was made in 2017. FIFA's 75th congress in May might discuss the 2030 proposal. If accepted, it would double the number of matches.
