Rob Thomson, the manager of Guernsey Cricket, acknowledges the significant leap in competition level. "The gap between the sub-regional qualification process that we went through last year to this stage is massive," Thomson stated. The team, which previously competed on artificial wickets against lower-ranked European nations, will now face professional teams on grass pitches.
