On an electrifying evening in Brighton, Luke Littler showcased his exceptional prowess by winning the fifth night of the Premier League Darts. This remarkable event was highlighted by the occurrence of two nine-dart finishes, a rare and impressive feat in the sport.

Littler, aged 18, clinched his second night victory of the year with a decisive 6-3 win over Nathan Aspinall in the final. His performance was bolstered by hitting five 180s, underlining his dominance on the oche. Only four days prior, Littler had delivered a stunning 11-2 victory against James Wade to secure the UK Open title.

I've always been confident in my own ability, but the way my darts are going at the minute, it's probably the best I've ever played on a consistent basis, Littler remarked during his interview with Sky Sports.

The evening also saw Luke Humphries, the world number one, achieving the first Premier League nine-darter of 2025 during the quarter-finals. However, his triumph was short-lived as he was subsequently defeated by Rob Cross. Cross himself achieved a perfect leg against Aspinall before succumbing in a deciding game.

Both players were awarded a set of solid gold darts, each valued at approximately £30,000, courtesy of league sponsors BetMGM.

With this victory, Littler has narrowed the gap to just two points behind league leader Humphries, setting the stage for their upcoming clash in Nottingham.

In a rematch of January's world final, Littler once again came out on top in Brighton, defeating Michael van Gerwen 6-2 in the semi-finals. Van Gerwen, a seven-time Premier League champion, has yet to advance to a final in this year's competition.
